Who Needs a Latvia Study Visa?

You’ll need a Latvia study visa if you’re a *non-EU/EEA student planning to study in Latvia. This includes students from India, China, the United States, and Canada.

Depending on the duration and type of your study program, you’ll need either a short-term (C) visa for courses lasting up to 90 days or a long-term (D) visa for programs exceeding 90 days.
Exceptional Cases: If you’re a part-time student, PhD, research scholar, or attending preparatory courses for more than 90 days, you’ll need a long-term visa.
If transitioning from a short-term course to a long-term program, you must apply for a long-term visa before your short-term visa expires.
